1. Who we are
John Fox, trading as TeslaReferral.ie, a sole trader in Ireland. Address: Kilbride Manor, Blessington, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Email: john@teslareferral.ie. Prices are not subject to VAT because the business is not VAT-registered.
TeslaReferral.ie is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. or any Tesla company. "Tesla" and model names belong to Tesla, Inc.
2. What the site does
The site publishes Irish guides for people buying or running an electric car, and sends buyers who choose to use a referral to a Tesla referral link belonging to an Irish owner. Tesla runs its referral programme under its own terms. Tesla alone decides whether an order qualifies, what any buyer or owner receives and when. We do not control, and cannot promise, any Tesla referral benefit.
Guides, calculators and prices on the site are general information, not financial, tax or legal advice. Live figures come from public sources and can be out of date or wrong. Check with Tesla, SEAI, Revenue or your supplier before you rely on a figure.
3. Owner listings
Free Basic
Free Basic adds you to a masked public waitlist. A Free Basic listing never receives buyers.

Every buyer who opens the site's referral route is sent to one active paid owner, chosen at random in proportion to their shares. Two Standard owners each get about half; a Featured owner next to one Standard owner gets about three buyers in four. The more paid owners there are, the smaller each share. Where a paid owner has been promised a fixed term before sharing started, that term runs to its end first; the join page shows the date.
Paid places are limited to 8 tickets in total (Standard uses 1, Premium 2, Featured 3), so each paid owner receives a meaningful share. When a plan would go over the limit, its sign-up button on the join page is replaced by the free waitlist. Places open when members cancel or reach Tesla's annual referral limit. We may raise the limit as buyer traffic grows.
A paid plan buys a share of buyer traffic. It does not guarantee any number of visits, orders, referrals or Tesla benefits. The site operator's own founding referral link is capped and takes no share of paid traffic.
Your responsibilities
- List only your own Tesla referral link, and keep your details accurate.
- Follow Tesla's referral terms. Tell us when you are close to Tesla's annual referral limit (currently 10 orders a year); we stop sending you buyers once you reach it.
- Answer the short monthly check-in email, which asks whether you are still under Tesla's limit. If you tell us you've reached it, we stop sending you buyers straight away. If two check-ins in a row go unanswered, your share of buyers pauses until you answer; your subscription and billing don't change.
- Do not use the site for spam or to mislead buyers.
We check listings before they go live and can pause a listing that breaks these terms or Tesla's terms. If we remove a paid listing for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of that month.
4. Payment and renewal
Paid plans are monthly subscriptions taken by Stripe. They renew automatically each month until you cancel. We tell you by email at least 30 days before any price change, and you can cancel before it applies.
5. Cancelling and your 14-day right
You can cancel at any time by emailing john@teslareferral.ie. We cancel the subscription in Stripe within one working day and confirm by email. Your listing stays live until the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
As a consumer you also have 14 days from payment to cancel. Because you ask us on the join page to start your listing straight away, cancelling within those 14 days gets you a refund of what you paid, minus a pro-rata amount for the days your listing was live. After 14 days, cancelling stops future payments, and months already paid are not refunded part-way. Cancellations and refunds has the details and a model cancellation form.
6. Our responsibility to you
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
We are not responsible for Tesla's decisions: order eligibility, referral rewards, delivery dates or changes to its programme. The site can be briefly unavailable for maintenance or because of an outage at a hosting provider. If our failure to provide a paid listing is our fault, our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the previous 12 months, unless the law says otherwise.
7. Changes to the service
We may change or close the service. If we close paid listings, we give 30 days' notice by email where we can, and we refund any part of a month already paid that we cannot provide.
8. Complaints and law
Email complaints to john@teslareferral.ie. We aim to reply within two working days. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie) has information on your rights. Irish law governs these terms. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of the consumer laws of your home country.
